Our School

Information

We will start 2017 with 6 teachers and 2 teacher aides.  We currently have 135 students.

The school is made up of 6 well resourced classrooms, a teacher aide room, a purpose built library and access to the Community Hall which is adjacent to the school and used frequently.  We also have a school pool (which we use daily over the warmer months) a fantastic playground and spacious grounds for the children's use.

Next door to the school is the Puahue Playcentre, a popular and run well Playcentre with 2 weekly sessions.  If you require information about the Playcentre please phone Hayley Muller on 027 5112777.

Uniform:

Puahue School has a compulsory school and PE uniform.  All uniform items are available at The Warehouse Te Awamutu.

The PE Uniform consists of the royal blue with black panels sports top and plain black shorts.  The school uniform is a blue polo shirt, worn with either navy blue shorts, a skirt, a skort or long pants.  A long sleeve polar fleece sweatshirt is also available for the colder months.  Hats (also available at the Warehouse) are worn in Terms 1 and 4.

We like to maintain a high standard of uniform and would appreciate parents/caregivers adhering to the guidelines below to keep it fair for all.

  • Shoes should be plain black closed in shoes or plain black sandals.
  • Socks are to be plain black or navy blue.
  • Plain black or navy blue tights (full length) may be worn with winter uniform.  No leggings.
  • Plain black or navy blue thermal long sleeve tops may be worn under school polo shirts in the winter months.
  • Plain black or navy blue hair bands.
  • No jewellery.
  • School sunhats are to be worn whilst outside in Terms 1 and 4.  They must be plain navy blue and can be either a bucket hat or a wide brim hat (no peaked caps).
  • Plain beanies (black or navy blue) may be worn to school and outside in terms 2 and 3 (but not in the classroom)
