We have a lot of sporting opportunities on offer at Puahue School!  Make sure you keep your eye on the school newsletter and return forms asap so we can make sure the children get to make the most of them all!

The Purpose of Sport at Puahue School can be found here

Sports Awards and School Cup Criteria can be found here

Please ensure you support our volunteer coaches and managers as without them there would not be sports teams.

We ask that all children and parents involved in sport this year read and understand the following:

Child Code of Conduct

Play for the fun of it not just to please your parents or coach Play hard but play by the rules Never argue with the referee's decision – let your coach or captain ask any necessary questions Recognise positive contributions made by team-mates and opposition Treat all players as you would like to be treated Co-operate with your coach, team-mates and opponents, for without them you don't have a game

Win with humility, lose with dignity

Parent Code of Conduct

Do not force an unwilling child to play sport Remember that children are involved in sport for their enjoyment not yours Encourage your child to always play by the rules Teach your child that honest effort is as important as vicoty so that the result of each game is accepted without undue disappointment Turn defeat into victory by helping your child work towards skill improvement and good sportsmanship Never ridicule or yell at your own or any other child for making a mistake or losing a game Remember that children learn best by example – comments from the sideline need to be unbiased and positive Do not questions the referee's judgement – the referee is always right Recognise the value and importance of volunteer coaches and managers – they freely give their time and resources to provide recreational activities for your child Encourage your child to thank coaches at the end of each practice or game
